Here we are in Lhasa Tibet, the World's rooftop..

Now Wednesday 1st of November 2006, is our sixth day here and we have adapted pretty well to the thin air and atmosphere.. First night here was quite awful because I kept waking up in the middle of the night to this headache, also during the second day I had a little banging at the side of my head.. Luckily it went by before the evening, so the second night went pretty well.

It is really nice to be here, between a range of high mountain tops, we have a clear blue sky and the sun shines warming us up during the day. I even took a sunbathing on Sunday afternoon.. Aaah! (Cheers back home!)

Monday we tried to go to the Potala Palace but they allow only 500 visitors a day so we only got these reservation tickets for the next afternoon. In the evening we spoke with Emma&Robin&Josefina&Eric&Joni (our Tibet posse) that we'll go to the roof in the morning after breakfast to practice some poi & staff swinging and enjoy the sun before going to the Palace..  So Tuesday afternoon, I went first to check my mail and write a couple of  letters (if you want one, send me an email stating your name and address and maybe I can send you one) and after to the rooftop to find myself alone there, it was all good even though because i practised poi ( ball in the end of a chain) and enjoyed the sun.

Josefina came up and we sat there for a moment then went off to the Palace, we arrived little late there and first they didn't want to let us in because it was closing in a bit.. But we got there ok and while walking forwards, we had this local guy give us private guiding so that we'll be more quickly out of there.. They closed the doors after us, it was a pretty quick visit but even so it was good since there weren't any other tourists around..

That was a really awesome place with astonishing decorations and statues.. I really enjoyed it.

Here's a view from the East side of the palace.

In the evening we went back to the roof of our hotel to sit down and enjoy the last rays of sunlight and to chat about this place, later on we went to this Chinese restaurant and ate really good food ( 8 different plates) and we also got a really good laugh there, the waitresses didn't even dare to come throw us out even though the place was obliviously closed for already a moment..

During the evening, we also squat the rooftop since it's offering us more scenery and of course a starlit sky..

A part from all this, the days pass without much noticing, the rooftop has become our number 1 hanging out place..
